about

The story behind this song began on a cold, snowy January morning in which the weather conditions were so awful, I was forced to stay inside and find a way to bide my time. I decided to make my mother a photo album full of pictures and spent hours digging through a box of moments ranging from childhood Christmas mornings to pictures of myself with former flames that no longer burn. I realized how emotional looking back through photographs could be...all the questions of where certain things went wrong, where they went right, and how some things never went at all. I think all of us secretly have a piece of our heart living in the past, and I am no exception. Please enjoy "Aberration", featuring a beautiful chorus from Natalie Major.

lyrics

This is a way of life, it’s a knife between the shoulder blades
A soul in flight, feathers flutter from the broken wings
Its ever bright, black emotions on a promise ring
My girl held tight, shining bright beneath the velveteen
Clouds, sounds, it’s a breath so profound, its like im staring at your
Picture cuz I couldn’t put it down, its a moment, windows open
And im looking in your soul, it’s the fractures in your features,
When you know you broke the mold, its like my breath in the cold
And seeing ghosts with my sixth sense, a haley joel contingency
or pretense, you resent, a flower planted deep within the cement,
the suspense, is killing me, im wading to the deep end, I descend
submerged, til im drowning in words, the truth hurts,
bury hatchets til I inhale dirt, wiping tears on my shirt
hypothetically, I speak to you in reverie, cuz everything you are
creates a better me, they’re telling me that….

All we cannot face, the open road will always find a way
We’re learning to accept what we can’t change, the story of our lives
We read between the lines

I sort the photographs, into piles, one that made us laugh
And smile, all these moments that I cherished as a child,
I compile with a couple tears, losing focus on the future
Staying tangled in the yesteryear, shackled to the future
Like its Handcuffs and chain letters, pain settles deep with
Stomach, hope the days better,
thinking that these tears could make the rain wetter
breathing the mist, such an intoxicating kiss
from the moments I miss
back before I knew ya…
my love triangles, all Bermuda
count disasters on my fingers, feeling smothered
but former lovers, never shined in technicolor
sort another pile, pictures of these moments with my brothers
and that winter morning whiteness, the days that shined the brightest
we smiled with our pearly whites and never left it silent,
circa 92 or 93, when mom still wore her wedding ring,
forgiving and forgetting, but never can I let it be.

All we cannot face, the open road will always find a way
We’re learning to accept what we can’t change, the story of our lives
We read between the lines

In a room full of hurt, its raining poloroids,
It looms like the sound of familiar noise,
In a room full of hurt, its raining poloroids,
Expose the truth, in the film,
See the broken boy.

All we cannot face, the open road will always find a way
We’re learning to accept what we can’t change, the story of our lives
We read between the lines
